Mckinley Arnold

McKinley Arnold is one of two brothers (Ernst was the other) to Grandpa George Arnold. He was a "high sherrif" in Kentucky. This picture is from Oct 1973, in Mt Vernon, KY where he was the local cop. He never drove a car. This was a dry town and he was very dry himself, once arrested his daughter for drinking.

  1. For Richard Miller, if you're still around, I'd love to share some history with you. This is my great grandfather. We all called him "Dad Arnold." My grandmother was Winnie, oldest daughter (not the one he reportedly arrested haha!). I am so glad you have this posted. I have a few more pictures of him and many many more of the rest of our family posted on Facebook (my name is Michelle (Mullins) Schull). They are public so that anyone can view them. His daughter, Thelma, is 96 and still getting around. His youngest son, Jr, was last known to be in Arizona. Dad Arnold used to live with us in Richmond, Indiana, on and off. He also lived with my grandmother's sister, Minnie Bradley, in Mt Vernon, Kentucky when he died, I believe in 1984. He's buried in Mt Vernon's cemetery with his last wife, Maggie, who died in the late 70's (I want to say around 1977 but I'm not positive). His children were Winnie (Mullins), Thelma (Russell), Garneda (Miller), Bentley Arnold, Mckinley (Jr), Minnie (Bradley), and Mary Ellen who died as a child. All but Minnie followed my mamaw here to Indiana in either the late 30's or early 40's. Minnie stayed in Mt Vernon. Bentley and Jr were both in the army, many years apart, Bentley during WWII and Jr in the 60's. Thank you for posting this, and God Bless you and yours!
