Louella Foltz as heroine.

Part 2 of the story.

Foltz

Mrs Foltz was Grandpa Miller's sister. Mom was and still is friends with all of the Foltz family. She kept this paper from 1983 with the story. Two years after the fire Mom's parents moved to the Taylor farm 1/2 mile north of the Foltz farm. The younger ones attended the nearby one room school with the Foltz kids. Mom met and married Dad who lived a few miles east.  Uncle Welty met and married Martha who lived across from the Foltz farm. And the story goes on.

Adkins-Arthur Cemetery Decoration Day

The family of Mom's Grandfather, John Arthur, is buried in this cemetery near Somerset Kentucky on the Adkins-Arthur Road. Mom's parents lay next to to her grandparents. It is just across the road from the Arthur homestead now occupied by Christine Arthur Woods, Mom's first cousin. Each cemetery has their own Decoration Day schedule. It is a very beautiful place.

YARDSTICKS

Mom loved to go to auctions, antique stores and yardsales to see and sometimes buy treasures and such. We enjoyed going together. These yardsticks represent places and people from my younger days. I have this display in my garage.
